An analyst, Brian Marshall of Gleacher & Co has said that he expects Apple to sell over half a million iPad 2‘s on day one of the launch itself. By the end of today he expects the number of iPads sold to reach over 600,000. Even Bloomberg has said that many analysts expect the iPad to top over 500,000 in sales on the very first day. This is a much higher figure compared to the sales of 300,000 seen on day one of the launch of the original iPad.
In all, apple managed to sell over 15 million iPads in 2010 and it currently owns the tablet space with over 90% market share. That share is however expected to go down as the Android 3.0 powered tablets make their presence felt this year.
